The Greene-Dreher Historical Society will sponsor a Hudson River Valley Bus Trip with a tour of the Vanderbilt Mansion and a sight-seeing cruise on the Hudson River. Guests will enjoy a 60-minute guided tour of the Vanderbilt Mansion National Historic Site, one of the area’s oldest Hudson River estates and one of several homes owned by Frederick William Vanderbilt and his wife Louise Holmes Anthony. The 54-room mansion was constructed in 1896 and 1899 on a bluff overlooking the Hudson River and is operated today by the National Park Service. The 211-acre site includes manicured lawns, formal gardens, and woodlands. Following lunch at Hyde Park, the tour continues to Kingston with a 90-minute narrated sightseeing cruise on the Hudson River. Guests will view the historic Hudson River lighthouses, waterfront mansions, and other notable sites.
