Jon Tandy has spent years researching Lake Wallenpaupack and the first settlement along the Wallenpaupack Creek. He will discuss the factors which lead these settlers to leave their homes in Connecticut and travel to what was then the frontier in northeastern Pennsylvania. Find out what happened to the early settlers and what evidence there is of their presence.
Local historian Jon Tandy has served on various nonprofit boards in the area and is a past president of the Tafton Fire Company. His research has focused on Lake Wallenpaupack and the settlements that preceded its construction in the mid-1920s. Jon is a retired Navy Commander having served in the submarine force for 20 years.
