Bernadine Lennon will present the history of the Newfoundland Settlement – the first immigrants to settle there; how the Moravian Church shaped that community; and the first-hand accounts of what life was like in the village, originally called Hopedale, in the early to mid-1800s. This is the first of six Local History Seminars held on Tuesday evenings at Peggy Bancroft Hall, the Historical Society’s meeting place and museum.
