A Walk Down Main Street
By the turn of the century, dozens of shops had sprung up along Main Street in Newfoundland, and the bustling village served as the business center for the Greene, Dreher, and Sterling communities. In the 1930s the variety of commercial establishments, all within walking distance, included a bank, drugstore, movie theater, A&P, shoe repair shop, feed store, car dealership, Western Auto, two general stores and three doctors offices.
