About LaAnna

Naivette Gilpin Harlow’s memoir of growing up in LaAnna in the early 1900s, with family photographs, map and genealogy charts. Naivette tells the story of her trailblazing grandparents, Nathan and LaAnna Houck, who settled here 160 years ago and founded the village of LaAnna. She reminisces about extended family members and recalls the many friends and neighbors who worked in the Houck sawmill and woodturning factory in the mid-1800s and early 1900s. They built their homes and shops nearby, creating a vibrant community that still exists today. 2nd Edition. 2016. Edited by Diane B. Smith. 64 pages with 50 b&w photographs, 6″x 9″, softcover. $11.32 (PA residents add 6% sales tax.)
